Net Zero
"L&F¡¯s Commitment to a Clear and Sustainable Planet"
L&F is making significant efforts to preserve our home, a clear earth.
By actively strengthening the sense of mission to solve environmental issues, all executives and employees will take the lead in reducing greenhouse gas emissions and
converting the use of energy to renewable energy in the entire company. L&F, which paints a bright and cheerful tomorrow for Net Zero, promises to show a clear-minded attitude.
Net Zero
L&F has established clear targets for both direct (Scope 1) and indirect (Scope 2) greenhouse gas emissions.
Based on these targets, we have developed a roadmap to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050 and join the RE100 initiative by 2035.
To reach our 2050 carbon neutrality goal, we have outlined a comprehensive strategy in three key areas.
In parallel, we are actively exploring a wide range of renewable energy solutions to support our transition and
meet the 2035 RE100 target.
L&F Net-Zero Roadmap

Net Zero
L&F has established a 2050 Net zero Roadmap. With the objective of transitioning to 100% renewable energy by 2030, we are committed to reducing indirect carbon emissions through an energy management campaign focused on lowering energy costs. Our aim is to achieve practical carbon neutrality by rigorously monitoring greenhouse gas emissions, diversifying reduction methods, and making significant investments in related facilities.
RE100
RE100 stands for ¡°Renewable Electricity 100%¡±, referring to the complete transition to renewable energy sources
such as the Green Premium program, REC (Renewable Energy Certificate) purchases, and PPA (Power Purchase Agreements).
In the short term, L&F aims to achieve RE100 by utilizing PPAs, RECs, and the Green Premium program.
In the long term, we will focus on securing a stable supply of renewable energy through PPAs and RECs, with an emphasis
on economic feasibility and authenticity.
Climate Change Adaptation
L&F recognizes the risks posed by climate change,
and has identified greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions management as a key focus in its climate response strategy.
We have established separate response plans for direct (Scope 1) and indirect (Scope 2) emissions.
For direct emissions, our approach is centered on three key areas: securing CCUS (Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Storage) technology,
improving process efficiency, and reducing emissions from lithium carbonate models.
Indirect emissions, which are primarily related to electricity consumption, are addressed through renewable energy transition initiatives and efforts to reduce overall energy usage.
Greenhouse Gas Emissions Management
L&F has established a greenhouse gas (GHG) inventory system to identify emissions by source and analyze emission trends
and proportions across all sites.
In 2024, the majority of GHG emissions originated from electricity consumption (Scope 2 - indirect emissions), accounting for approximately
98% of total emissions.
Around 90% of Scope 1 emissions result from the lithium carbonate process, and we are continuously exploring measures
such as raw material substitution and the adoption of CCUS (Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Storage) technology to reduce these emissions.
As 100% of Scope 2 emissions stem from electricity use, we are actively reviewing various renewable energy solutions
- such as REC purchases and PPA agreements?to achieve 100% renewable energy conversion.
GHG Emissions
Category | Unit | 2022 | 2023 | 2024 |
---|---|---|---|---|
Direct emissions (Scope 1) | Tons of CO2e | 4,621 | 5,162 | 2,663 |
Indirect emissions (Scope 2) | Tons of CO2e | 117,345 | 145,769 | 135,392 |
Total emissions(Scope1+Scope2) | Tons of CO2e | 121,963 | 150,925 | 138,049 |
Intensity emissions | Tons of CO2e / KRW million | 0.031 | 0.032 | 0.073 |
* Greenhouse gas emissions and total emissions and the sum of business site emissions are different. (Business-site truncated emissions are combined by company)
Response to Global Environmental Initiatives
RE100(Renewable Energy 100)
A global campaign aiming for 100% transition of the electricity required for corporate activities to renewable sources.
L&F joined RE100 and executed specific plans ¡æ Implementing strategies to achieve RE100 by 2030.

CDP(Carbon Disclosure Project)
A total 91 countries worldwide joined in the initiative.
A global climate change project that discloses GHGs, climate-related risks and opportunities, and carbon management strategies.
L&F has been engaging in CDP evaluations since 2023.
